Story text «Little Stego’s Heavy Eyelids»

Narrator: The sun had already dipped behind the Great Volcanoes, leaving the prehistoric valley bathed in a soft, purple glow. The giant ferns swayed gently, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of night-blooming jasmine.

Pip: Oh, my tail feels so heavy today. I think my scales are ready to go to sleep, but my feet still want to wander just a little bit more.

Narrator: Pip, the little Stegosaurus, took a slow step forward. His heavy plates on his back clinked softly like river stones. He reached a tall, ancient tree where Mama Tera was folding her large wings.

Mama Tera: Shhh, little one. The stars are waking up to watch over us. Why are you still walking through the ferns?

Pip: I am looking for the softest spot in the world, Mama Tera. A place where the grass feels like a cloud.

Mama Tera: Follow the silver path by the river, Pip. The Elder Bronto knows the secret of the Quiet Meadow.

Sound effect: soft water splashing

Narrator: Pip thanked her and waddled toward the river. His footsteps were slow and rhythmic. Thump... thump... thump... In the water, he saw the reflection of the moon, round and white like a dinosaur egg. There, standing among the reeds, was Elder Bronto.

Elder Bronto: You have arrived, little traveler. You look as though you could fall asleep while standing.

Pip: My eyes keep wanting to close, Elder Bronto. Is the Quiet Meadow near?

Elder Bronto: It is right here under your feet. The moss is thick, and the breeze is singing a song just for you. Listen closely.

Sound effect: soft chime sound

Narrator: Pip looked down and saw a bed of emerald moss, glowing faintly in the moonlight. He circled three times, finding the perfect position. He tucked his head close to his chest and let out a long, happy breath.

Pip: It is... so soft. Goodnight, valley. Goodnight, stars.

Narrator: The little dinosaur closed his eyes, and his breathing became slow and steady. The whole prehistoric world seemed to tuck itself in under a blanket of silence. Resting your body allows you to dream of big adventures for tomorrow.
